THE ORIGINS OF THE BASSTRIX
Founded by Drum & Bass MC Ashley Kenward (otherwise known as Twisted MC) The Basstrix was born toward the end of his time living in New Zeland. Wanting to create a night with a strong identity and concept behind it, after much rumiration, the name and idea behind "The Basstrix" came to Ashley like a bolt from the blue one evening.
Upon arriving back in the UK and setting up roots in Hull, Ashley wasted no time in recruiting DJ & MC talent from multiple scenes and brands in the area and the vision for the Basstrix came alive at the launch night in November 2024.
BRINGING TALENT TOGETHER
The Basstrix aims to bring together the best DJ & MC talent, from various D&B and dance brands both from the city of Hull and beyond. We aim to unify Hulls incredible talent pool with a twist of external flavour to spice up the dance floor.
The Basstrix has now set up roots at the iconic Polar Bear music club in Hull, a grassroots venue that regularly plays host to the finest talents and events brands in the city. With a number of events scheduled throughout 2025 and a strong focus on production value, The Basstrix promises an auditory and visual experience unlike any other!
