Our Mission
The Basstrix was born from a desire to support and showcase grassroots. Grassroots has become a bit of a buzz word within the scene at the moment, however, with small music venues around the country facing more pressure than ever the importance of supporting them cannot be overstated. Grassroots venues are the backbone of our scene, they create platforms for artists to cut their teeth, hone their skills and build a name for themselves. Without this ecosystem, the scene falls apart.
We aren't trying to build another night focused around headliners. We want to showcase the people that build and contribute to the Drum & Bass scene in Hull. Operated by local DJ, Producer and MC Twelve Step Audio with the support of a small team of friends, The Basstrix is a night built for the people of Hull, by the people of Hull.
Supporting Talent
Now in our second year, The Basstrix continues to bring together artists from various D&B and dance brands within the city, while making sure we are representing a diverse range of artists. We strongly believe in developing new artists and have a number of initiatives to support this. We know what an incredible talent pool Hull has to draw from and our scene is full of passionate and dedicated artists.
Our home is the iconic Polar Bear music club in Hull, a grassroots venue that regularly plays host to the finest talents and events brands in the city. With a strong focus on production value, community vibes and raw Northern authenticity, we continue to proudly represent and fly the flag for Drum & Bass and Jungle in Hull.
